If you have an attractive well-maintained yard with water-conserving landscape features, the cities of Fort Worth and Coppell want to hear from you.

• Last year, the U.S. Forest Service locked the gate to significant areas of Lake Fannin Park, a wilderness gem on the Red River

• As a result, volunteers who restored the historic park have been unable to continue.

• Efforts are underway to transfer the land to county control.

The Friends of O.S. Gray Natural Area are on a pecan tree hunt. 

They’re looking for something unique – six varieties of pecan trees patented by O.S. Gray, an Arlington nurseryman and namesake of the park.

Gray, whose plant nursery operated in Arlington from 1932 to 1986, was an innovative pecan tree grower and expert.
