The North Texas Corporate Recycling Association put green business practices in the spotlight at its Green 3 Awards last week at the Dallas Arboretum. The nearly 25-year-old nonprofit organization, which promotes recycling and the use of recycled goods, singled out some of the most notable efforts by local entities to reduce waste in North Texas.

Ecofest Arlington couldn’t have planned better weather on Saturday. The mild sunny day drew a record crowd of about 18,000, according to Heather Dowell, organizer for the fest.

An enthusiastic group of greenies turned out for the Green Source DFW brainstorming session on Thursday night. The open meeting, held at the First Unitarian Church of Dallas, was assembled to get input from readers about the direction of the publication.
