The North Texas Corporate Recycling Association put green business practices in the spotlight at its Green 3 Awards last week at the Dallas Arboretum. The nearly 25-year-old nonprofit organization, which promotes recycling and the use of recycled goods, singled out some of the most notable efforts by local entities to reduce waste in North Texas.

Ecofest Arlington couldn’t have planned better weather on Saturday. The mild sunny day drew a record crowd of about 18,000, according to Heather Dowell, organizer for the fest.

Green art can mean alot of different things we learned at the eco-art show held at the Addison Gallery and Artisan Center Sept 12. The show entitled Art with RePurpose, hosted by Women in the Environment, featured a wide range of artists all working with sustainability in mind.

• More than 100 charities participating in the fundraising event support environmental and animal welfare.
