Explore Chalk Mountain Ranch, a 341-acre Texas Land Conservancy conservation easement in the Lampasas Cut Plain of North Central Texas. Jeff Quayle of Native Prairies Association of Texas will lead this exploration in Somervell County.

Use of the iNaturalist app during fieldtrips is also encouraged, so valuable data can be contributed to iNaturalist

We’ll meet in Glen Rose and carpool to the ranch. En route, we will stop on the way to see a rare species only known from Somervell County in North Central Texas. Once at Chalk Mountain, our hike will be on easy to moderate terrain, up to 2.5 miles. Bring plenty of water.

$20 suggested donation. Donations will be divided and distributed to Texas Land Conservancy (conservation easement holder for the property) and Native Prairies Association of Texas (conservation and land trust organization). Register online.
