CONNEMARA LAUNCHES ‘HOPS FOR HABITAT” BREWFEST SERIES

• Allen to host first charity fundraiser on April 7
• McKinney, Dallas also scheduled to host events

A popular North Texas brewery and local farmers will take center stage beginning this spring when the Connemara Conservancy launches its first “Hops for Habitat” Brewfest Series on April 7 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Old Farm House at Montgomery Farm.

Rahr & Son Brewing Company of Fort Worth will be this year’s featured brewery for the series of events designed to raise money to support the Connemara mission of working with landowners and communities to protect and conserve critical natural landscapes remaining throughout North Texas.

Food will be provided by a variety of local farmers and producers throughout the series.

Tickets for the Allen event, at $50 each and limited to 100 attendees, go on sale to the public on March 5 at connemaraconservancy.org.

Sponsorships also are available for the entire series.

“This series is designed to bring the community together to celebrate the natural originality of North Texas,” said Connemara executive director Sandra Greenway. “From local brewmasters and chefs, to fun and funky places to party, Hops For Habitat is great way to experience some of the best things North Texas has to offer.”

Additional “Hops for Habitat” events are scheduled for June, August, December and February 2013 at dates and locations to be announced later.

About The Connemara Conservancy
The Connemara Conservancy Foundation (CCF) was created in 1981 when Frances Williams donated her family’s beloved 72-acre meadow for public use as the Foundations's initial property under a Conservation Land Trust. For several years, the Foundation focused much of its work on education programs in the meadow until Mrs. Williams and the Connemara Board of Trustees identified a need to expand the conservation efforts to include more tracts of land in North Texas.

Today, the Connemara Conservancy Foundation protects almost 4,000 acres of open space throughout North Texas. Connemara is an active member of the National Land Trust Alliance, the Texas Land Trust Alliance and the Center for Nonprofit Management.
