What could be more fun than summer camp at the Dallas Arboretum? Our
all-time favorite Creature Feature returns with all new animals and
activities. Explore the world of Fairy Tales and visit our enchanting
castle exhibit. Become inspired by nature in Earth, Wind, Inspire, go
wild about bugs in Bug Club and discover Texas in Lone Star Adventure
Camp. These camps and more are available for children ages four to
twelve. Don’t miss the coolest camps in Dallas!


All camps are Monday – Friday

Half day camps: 9 am – 12 pm or 1pm- 4pm Members $108; Nonmember $120.

Survivor Camp: 9 am – 3:30 pm. Members $171; Nonmembers $190 * Bring a sack lunch daily

Lone Star Adventure Camp: 9 am – 3:30 pm. $250. DABS or TRAC members $225 * Bring a sack lunch daily

Little Critters: Tue – Thurs, 9am – 12pm. Members $90; Nonmembers $99

Summer adventures at River Legacy Living Science Center provide students with an exciting hands-on, minds-on opportunity to explore the natural world.

* A variety of weeklong programs in June and July offer children engaging ways to learn about wildlife, ecology and the environment.

* Age-appropriate curriculums benefit preschool children through 8th grade.

* All classes feature investigations both inside the Living Science Center and outdoors in the rich resources of River Legacy Parks.

* Classes fill on a first-come, first-served basis.

* Children should come dressed for both indoor and outdoor explorations. Closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended.

Classes and Class Schedules

Hike part of the Oak Motte Trail with Nature Center Director Suzanne Tuttle to discover the late spring wildflowers of the Ft Worth prairie and wildlife that call this prairie remnant home. $5 plus admission, free/members.

The Dallas Farmers Market welcomes its momentous 70th season. The Chef at the Market summer series kicks off at 10 am; the Inner City All Star Band will be performing on the plaza. Support local farmers, produce dealers, specialty food vendors and restaurant vendors.

Independent canoeing and kayaking on the quiet waters around Greer Island. Canoes/kayaks, paddles and lifejackets provided. Children must be 5 years or older and accompanied by an adult. First come, first served. Meet at Greer Island. $5 plus admission, $3/members plus admission.

Hundreds of butterflies will be released in an 800-square foot mesh tent conservatory, lined with flowering plants and green foliage, water fountains and butterfly feeders. Make 100s of friends instantly by walking through the exhibit with a cotton swab soaked in Gatorade.
Bring a camera. $6/adult, $3/child.

The Sylvan Boat Launch will kick off its designation as a Texas Paddling Trail. City officials, Texas Parks and Wildlife officials, and paddling enthusiasts will be on hand to celebrate this important designation which provides national status and marketing outreach throughout the United States for visitors to the state.

Celebrate spring and the opening of the zoo's new bird show, SOAR, A Festival of Flight, with live entertainment, activities for the kids, bounce houses, and more. $15/adults, $12/children 3-11, free/children 2 and under.

An eco-conscious springtime festival designed to inspire every-BODY to move, play, integrate, breath deep, and learn through pleasure, a myriad of experiential movement modalities from yoga to tai chi o ecstatic dance, are offered to make joyful embodied living accessible and inviting to folks of all ages & all walks of life.
