Keynote : Texas Native Plants at 11 a.m. 

Texas A&M horticulturalist Dr. Beck Grubbs from the AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Dallas will speak at 11 a.m. on Texas Native Plants and why you need them, presenting the Top 100 for North Texas. Tickets for the keynote presentation are $10 and are available online at www.MarshallGrain.com/events.

Free Birdscaping Presentation at 10 a.m.

In “Birdscaping,” presented by Wild Delight, we’ll help you choose plants that attract wild birds and teach you how to match up your feeder with the right bird food to get the birds you want. Learn about must-have plants that provide forage and nesting materials, plus the important role feeders play in sustaining our native wildlife. Presented by Wild Delight. We’ll also talk about feeding (or repelling) squirrels, reducing seed spills and preventing spilled seed from sprouting. 

Pet Adoptions 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Both DFW Humane Society and Mid-Cities Community Cats will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to introduce adoptable pets to potential pet parents. Come and meet your new best friend! 

Mid-Cities Community Cats will also host a brief talk at 12 p.m. on “TNVR” — trap, neuter, vaccination and release programs — and how they benefit local communities. 

Low-Cost Pet Vaccinations 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Vaccination Station, a Mobile Vet Clinic, will offer low-cost vaccinations and heartworm testing from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on a first-come, first-serve basis.
