On April 27 – 30, 2018, 65 cities in 17 countries around the world will participate in the third annual City Nature Challenge.

It’s easy to participate, no matter where you live:

• If you’re in one of the 10 counties surrounding DFW, make observations using the iNaturalist app or through the website ake a picture of a wild animal, plant, or fungi, upload it to iNaturalist, and the online community will help you accurately identify the species.

• The DFW project will automatically grab the observations made within the area.  There’s no need to ask participants to join the project, unless they want to watch updates fly in.

•  Organize a nature walk or a bioblitz at a public park or nature center/preserve. You can work with a park board or with a nature center to make this even more of a public event.

• No matter where in the state you live you can help identify observations being uploaded by City Nature Challenge participants in DFW on the “Identify” page.

The data generated from this event will help researchers, land managers and policy makers here in DFW.
