Be part of this historical fiber art project with recycle artist VET.  This workshop is the third in a series entitled “Freedom Quilt Codes.”

Learn how one symbol can have multiple meanings and sometimes a hidden message. Participants will create quilt blocks based on Freedom Quilt Code designs. Each of the first nine classes will be dedicated to making a single pattern, the 10th class is for assembling your blocks into individual small art quilts. This event-series culminates May 18 at the South Dallas Cultural Center. On that morning, your quilt blocks will be assembled for display, with an exhibit reception to follow that afternoon. Attend one, two, or all of the sessions. There will be blank panels on hand for those that did not attend all of the workshops. Participants will keep their art quilts.

This is a fun and free workshop. All supplies are provided, and no special skills are required. Blocks will be made from fabric, using glue and hand stitching.
