The Solar Car Challenge originated in 1993, and has been recognized by "Technology & Learning" as one of the top ten education programs in the country. Our program teaches high school students how to build roadworthy solar cars, and then provides a safe environment to race. NTREG members will participate in various aspects of the race and related activities.
The 2011 Solar Car Challenge is a
closed-track event held at the world famous Texas Motor Speedway. Come
share the fun... meet the kids and see their solar cars. For more
information, see the Calendar.

The Solar Car Challenge is designed to
motivate students in the sciences, engineering, and technology. The end
product of each two-year education cycle is the Solar Car Challenge: a
closed-track event at the world famous Texas Motor Speedway, or a cross
country event designed to give students an opportunity to display their
work.
The Solar Car Challenge is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit education foundation.
