Per Liveable Arlington:

French Driller Total has applied for a permit to drill and frack three gas wells at the AC360 drill site on 2000 S. Watson Road. The city has rescheduled the public hearing on the gas well permits as an online meeting on Tuesday June 9. Members of the community will be able to participate in the online hearing.

Liveable Arlington will send an email this Saturday with instructions on how to attend and speak at the online hearing. We will update our Facebook event page with the instructions on Saturday as well.

You may also send comments in opposition to the permits by emailing gincy.thoppil@arlingtontx.gov. Make sure to include "AC360 Drill Site Hearing" in the subject line. In your email please say that you would like your email to be entered in the hearing record.

These gas wells represent a danger to the health of our community.

Here are reasons for opposing the gas well permits that you can include in your comments:

    •    Higher death rates from COVID-19 have been found in places with more air pollution: https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/news/hsph-in-the-news/air-pollution-linked-....

    •    The risk associated with increased air pollution and toxic emissions from the gas wells.

    •    The potential negative health effects on children.

    •    The risk of accidents and blowouts.

    •    The potential impact on property values as well as the risk of foundation damage from the ground shifting.
