National Trails Day®: The first Saturday of June is always American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day. Celebrate National
Trails Day by beginning your day with Natural Guard working on the trails from 9 a.m. - Noon or a Naturalist-led Nature Hike at 10
a.m. - Noon.

Take a break from work and hiking and join us as we discuss the Conservation Civilian Corps (CCC) contribution to
the Nature Center from 1 - 1:30 p.m; then join us as we hike around Canyon Ridge Trail as we enjoy the scenery and see the very
structures the CCC built during their time at the Nature Center.

$5 (with paid admission)/MEMBERS FREE (Naturalist-led
Nature Hike). Natural Guard (FREE). CCC Talk/Canyon Ridge Hike (Maximum 15) $5 (with paid admission)/MEMBERS &
WORKERS FREE.

 

The Fort Worth Nature Center is proud to offer the 2011 Summer Natural History Adventures.  

We offer exciting and educational day camps for children entering Kindergarten up to those entering the 8th grade
One day a week, each age group will explore a different natural history
theme such as reptiles, insects, butterflies and more!  The camps take
place during June and July.

Spend two days paddling and one night camping as your guides share about the flora, fauna and geology of this
scenic river. Paddling equipment and meals included. Minimum Age: 12 years *

    --  Friday night, May 6: Equipment check and drop off and safety meeting at the Heard SRC building

    --  Saturday, May 7: Depart the Heard at 8am

    --  Sunday, May 8: Return to the Heard at 8pm

Nature Camps

Explore the wonders of the outdoors! Campers will take daily nature walks on our 289-acre sanctuary, get up close and personal with our education animals, and investigate different nature-themed topics every day. Campers aged 5-9 years have two different themed camps to pick from — experience one or both camps for a variety of age-appropriate lessons and activities.

Eco-Explorers is specially designed for campers aged 10-12 years. Time 9:30am—2:30pm | Tuition $210/members, $235/non-members | Dates sessions vary by camp

For Kids entering K - 5th grade $198/child for members ($220 for non-members)

Experience summer fun and learning at Trinity River Audubon Center. Our summer
camps are like none other nestled in the Great Trinity Forest, we offer a
120-acre outdoor classroom and a state-of-the-art nature center along
the Trinity River just 8 minutes from downtown Dallas.

At
Audubon Summer Camp, your children will be outside, enjoying hands-on
learning and exploring the wonders of nature.  We’ll hike, study
wildlife,
learn outdoor skills, create nature art, and conduct field
experiments while learning more about our amazing north Texas home. Our experienced and
caring educators will nurture your child’s love of nature, while having lots of fun in the great outdoors.

Science to give kids the hands-on fun they need to stretch their minds,
explore their world, and open their eyes to amazing possibilities!
Share the discovery with your child in our Little Explorers, watch
their independence blossom in our half-day Discovery Camp, Jr., or give
their ingenuity and creativity a chance to really shine in our
full-day Discovery Camp. For kids from 6 months to 6th grade, our
summer programs provide the perfect framework to come and explore!

What could be more fun than summer camp at the Dallas Arboretum? Our
all-time favorite Creature Feature returns with all new animals and
activities. Explore the world of Fairy Tales and visit our enchanting
castle exhibit. Become inspired by nature in Earth, Wind, Inspire, go
wild about bugs in Bug Club and discover Texas in Lone Star Adventure
Camp. These camps and more are available for children ages four to

All camps are Monday – Friday

Half day camps: 9 am – 12 pm or 1pm- 4pm Members $108; Nonmember $120.

Survivor Camp: 9 am – 3:30 pm. Members $171; Nonmembers $190 * Bring a sack lunch daily

Lone Star Adventure Camp: 9 am – 3:30 pm. $250. DABS or TRAC members $225 * Bring a sack lunch daily

Little Critters: Tue – Thurs, 9am – 12pm. Members $90; Nonmembers $99

Summer adventures at River Legacy Living Science Center provide students with an exciting hands-on, minds-on opportunity to explore the natural world.

* A variety of weeklong programs in June and July offer children engaging ways to learn about wildlife, ecology and the environment.

* Age-appropriate curriculums benefit preschool children through 8th grade.

* All classes feature investigations both inside the Living Science Center and outdoors in the rich resources of River Legacy Parks.

* Classes fill on a first-come, first-served basis.

* Children should come dressed for both indoor and outdoor explorations. Closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended.
