Nicknamed “The Lazy Gardener”, Felder
Rushing’s “Slow Gardening” is a lively presentation on how to have fun
establishing a pretty and productive garden with as little effort as
possible. He will share his secrets on creating garden spaces in
unexpected places, including the back of a truck!

Tickets for this presentation will be $10.00 (plus tax and processing
fee) and are available for purchase at http://felderrushing.eventbrite.com/
Space is limited so buy your tickets early!

Mr. Rushing travels all over the world sharing his offbeat approach to
gardening, using humorous anecdotes, zany observations, garden-irreverent
metaphors and stunning photos – all while trying to help gardeners get
past the “rules” of horticulture. He is a published author, writing
gardening books and penning thousands of columns and articles for
syndicated newspapers and national publications, such as National
Geographic, Organic Gardening and Better Homes and Gardens.

Children learn about fresh, seasonal
food while they have fun at the farmers market. Market tokens
available for kid-size shopping at the market, choose-my-plate cards,
recipes, cooking class, and photo follow-up.

Food Day seeks to bring together Americans from all walks of
life—parents, teachers, and students; health professionals, community
organizers, and local officials; chefs, school lunch providers, and
eaters of all stripes—to push for healthy, affordable food produced in a sustainable, humane way.
