Learn about water quality issues at a series of three Sunday presentations at Unity of Dallas, 10:00 to 10:45 on July 3, 10 and 17. The speaker will be Michael Bira, water quality expert with the US EPA.

- July 3: Fundamental aspects of pollution, and why it is harmful
- July 10: Water Quality Standards as the core of the Clean Water Act
- July 17: Plastics in the environment and their worldwide impacts


All classes are free and open to the public. Location is 6525 Forest Lane in Dallas, upstairs in the Adult Classroom.


Michael Bira is an Environmental Scientist for the Water Quality Protection Division of the US EPA Region 6 in Dallas. He coordinates the Clean Lakes Program, works on nonpoint source water pollution, and does water quality outreach. He has Marine Biology and Chemistry degrees from University of Tampa and an MS in Aquatic Biology/Limnology from Southwest Texas State University.
