An amazing season of Heard summer camps awaits! Kids ages 5-14 will enjoy the summer months as they get an in-depth education indoors and outdoors on our 289-acre sanctuary. General information is available below. More details coming soon!

Nature Camps

Explore the wonders of the outdoors! Campers will take daily nature walks on our 289-acre sanctuary, get up close and personal with our education animals, and investigate different nature-themed topics every day. Campers aged 5-9 years have two different themed camps to pick from — experience one or both camps for a variety of age-appropriate lessons and activities.

Eco-Explorers is specially designed for campers aged 10-12 years. Time 9:30am—2:30pm | Tuition $210/members, $235/non-members | Dates sessions vary by camp

Camp Vampire Bat for 5-9 year olds Session Dates June 13—17; June 27—July 1; July 18—22 Learn the truth about bats and other misunderstood animals, discover amazing ways animals can explore their world, make your own special potion like your favorite wizard, explore what lives in the wetlands, play exciting eco-games, and more.

Camp Barn Owl for 5-9 year olds Session Dates June 20—24; July 11—15; July 25—29 Get to know owls and other nocturnal animals, discover how some animals have their own GPS-like systems, solve a Land Scene Investigation, see what lurks in Bullfrog Pond, explore uses of native plants, play exciting eco-games, and much more.

Eco-Explorers for 10-12 yr olds Session Dates June 13—17; June 27—July 1; July 18—22 Learn to Leave No Trace and explore with a map and compass, keep a nature journal, discover geocaching, use microscopes to identify aquatic critters, and play eco-games. These are just some of the adventures planned! Specialty Camps Does your child love art or animals? We have camps just for them.

Audubon Naturalist Art Camp for ages 6-12 years Session Dates August 1-5 or 8-12 | Time 9am—noon | Tuition $160/members, $185 non-members Young artists will follow in the footsteps of great artists such as Audubon and Monet with unique opportunities to draw directly from nature and live animals. Art supplies included.

Animal Adventure Camp 1 & Camp 2 for 10-14 year olds Time 9:30am – 2:30pm | Tuition $260 members, $285 non-members * Camp 1 Session Dates July 18—22 or July 25—29 Campers experience a behind-the-scenes, hands-on adventure with our education and exhibit animals. Learn about our different animals and what it takes to properly care for them. * Camp 2 Session Dates August 1—5 Want more? Continue your adventure and discover even more about taking care of animals and enriching the lives of our animal ambassadors. Must have attended Camp 1 to register.
