The two-day seminar will cover:
*Earthship construction combined with monolithic domes using new materials and techniques that drastically reduce cost.
*Food production of produce and protein with aquaponics.
*Thermal mass principles.
*Cooling with convection draw.
*Thermal mass rocket heaters.
*Solar and wind power.
*Water catchment.
*Water recycling.
*Sewage treatment.

The training will be classroom time only. The hands-on training will take place during the build we're having in September.

Learn about DFW’s unique growing season(s), climate, soils, plants and water resources in this two-day class. Raise safe, nutritious food for your family, teach children to know and enjoy gardening.
Complete the course and volunteer 10 hours within the program (generally
at the garden where your class was hosted).

Is your yard work piling up? Let it! Learn the basics of turning that garden debris into garden gold through composting. We cover what to put in, what to leave out, and how to mix, moisten and manage your way to successful soil enrichment. We'll also teach you to use specialized red worms to compost your food waste and create a fertile soil amendment for plants.

Event hosted by the Arlington Conservation Council. Renowned Texas Master Naturalist Jim Varnum will lead a one-hour plant walk. His walks are always very interesting, educational and informative.

Following the plant walk, City Councilwoman Lana Wolff will draw the winning ticket in ACC's Rangers Ballpark Suite fund raiser. Tickets are available for $20 each.

After the drawing, volunteers will be watering, weeding and cleaning up in the park.
