Speakers: Texas AgriLife A&M Extension Office. Water is a precious natural resource and conservation is vital. Students will learn about the importance of water conservation through the harvesting of rainwater as well as techniques to use the harvested rain. Students will be shown how to build a rainwater harvesting collection barrel using a food grade plastic 55-gallon collection unit. Each paid student will receive a rain barrel ready for use at the end of the clinic. Seating is limited. $30 non-refundable fee is required prior to attending the clinic. Preregistration is required. City of Dallas Water Utilities, City of Dallas Park & Recreation, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, and Dallas County Master Gardeners are teaming up to demonstrate the beauty of Water-Wise and EarthKind gardening with the 21st annual Water-Wise Landscape Tour.

Dallas County Master Gardeners will be conducting free 30-minute talks on Water-Wise gardening and related topics at all tour headquarters. Dallas County Master Gardener volunteers will also be assisting homeowners and helping answer questions about the plants and landscapes on the tour. 

The first 100 visitors at each of the three tour headquarters, June 6, will receive a free hose spray nozzle.

The family-friendly, annual festival of arts and crafts features flight demonstrations of majestic wild birds and live music from Texas musicians. Children will learn how to build a bug house or paint using leaves, and everyone will learn about the cultural and natural history that defines our region through activities and games for the whole family.
