In spring around Earth Day, it seems every community in North Texas has a green fest going on.

The largest Shrine circus producer in the country announced last week that he’ll no longer produce shows featuring elephants, tigers, lions or other wild animals. 

Authors from Dallas County Community College have published a two-volume textbook titled "Feasted Landscapes: Sustainability in American Topics."

In October, migrating monarch butterflies will flutter into North Texas and they need milkweeds for their hatchling caterpillars to feed on.

While there are a number of eco-friendly mosquito repellents on the market, Marla McDonald of Dallas and Stephen Sawyer of Austin got the itch to sell their own version called Bug-Bouncer last year. Now they're scrambling to keep the product in stock with orders swarming in from as far away as Hawaii.

Jason Winningham of Duncanville created the Green Tip of the Week series. GreenSourceDFW.org recently began publishing Winningham’s eco-friendly videos as an ongoing feature.
