Jan Peck and David Davis thought it was time to update Mother Goose for a more eco-friendly generation.

Last week, Pope Francis delivered a blunt message to the world regarding the environment in a 184-page encyclical, entitled "Laudato Si," an Italian phrase meaning "Praised Be To You" taken from a song penned by St. Francis, the patron saint of ecology.

The Dallas Green Alliance was celebrating its victories following the Dallas City Council runoff election on Saturday.

"I'm really proud of the progressive green residents of Dallas," said Dallas Green Alliance chair Cherelle Blazer. "I feel like we had a huge effect on the elections."
