January Chapter Meeting

Wednesday, January 5, 2010, 2009, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm(Eat & Greet at 6:30pm and Meeting at 7:00pm)Speaker: David Waidler, Research Associate- Watershed Coordinator, Texas AgriLife Extension and Research Urban Solutions Center at Dallas.

Topic:   Wildlife and Water Quality.

Urban and rural wildlife can impact water quality in a variety of ways ranging from stream erosion to bacterial pollution.  Wildlife management has often worked to inadvertently increase these issues.  However, with the advent of holistic, stakeholder-based watershed protection planning, officials are working to address the issues such as feral hogs, white-tail deer overpopulation, and migratory bird concentrations.  This presentation will be presenting numerous case studies of wildlife and water quality issues from around Texas.

Meetings are open to the public.
