The Future Cities; Livable Futures conference is a free public event to provide a platform for discussions on urban-watershed systems.

The Future Cities; Livable Futures: Toward a Sustainable Model for Urban-Watershed Systems conference will provide a great platform to introduce cross-disciplinary dialogues around sustainable urban-watershed management and explore best practices to explain and better understand the different factors that interact to form an urban-watershed system. As the human population continues growing, cities across the globe need to address the challenges and opportunities of urban watersheds via a systems approach that integrates cross-sectoral perspectives of science, engineering, design, planning and policy making while incorporating input from citizens along the water’s edge.

This is a great opportunity for the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex as the Trinity River Watershed is in our backyard and will be re-envisioned as a relevant model for future urban-watershed management and planning across the United States. Future Cities; Livable Futures will ultimately result in an interdisciplinary research partnership with a view to developing a research initiative on the creation and stewardship of sustainable urban watershed systems.
