Presentation 2 by Dan Lepinski, P.E.: "Off-grid Solar In Puerto Rico After Hurrican Maria"

On September 20, 2017, the lights went out in Puerto Rico. More than 3.3 million people suddenly found themselves without electricity. The outage is now listed as the worst in American history.

Many rural residents were told it would be up to two years before power may be restored in their area. Some were told power would never be back.

Within days of the impact, efforts were underway by solar energy experts to provide assistance. This presentation is the story of one of those organizations, and their results thus far to bring solar electricity to the most severely affected parts of Puerto Rico.
