Topic: Ground Source (Geothermal) Heat Pumps
Presenter: Paul Westbrook

About Our Presentation:
Our May 9th presentation will look at how a heat pump works, show the differences between an air-source and ground-source heat pump, and explore the components of a heat pump. Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP) are sometimes called Geothermal Heat Pumps. A GSHP is a heat pump that uses the relatively constant temperature of the earth as a heat source or heat sink. They are significantly more energy efficient than the typical air-source heat pump.

Presenter Paul Westbrook will share his 24 years of GSHP operational data. The presentation will also highlight GSHP use at schools, including some in North Texas, that have reaped large cost savings for their districts.
