Presentation: "The Story of a 1980 Toyota Celica Conversion from Gas .. to All Electric"

Adam is nationally known in the electric vehicle realm. He got an early start in electric vehicles when he built his own electric vehicle from scratch by restoring a 1980 Toyota Celica, and converting it to all electric operation.

Adam gained national recognition when his work as an "EV" enthusiast was recognized by Jay Leno, who featured Adam and his electric Celica in a recent episode of "Jay Leno's Garage" TV show. (You'll remember Jay as the former host of the "Tonight Show" on NBC.)

Adam has continued his work in electric vehicles by converting a Volkswagon Super Beetle to all-electric operation, into which he incorporated one of the most technologically advanced battery packs, which he says will be good for more than 1.2 million miles of travel. Circumstances permitting, Adam plans to bring the all-electric Super Beetle to the Dec. 8 meeting, where it will be available for your inspection, photos, and questions to Adam about its construction.
