We will visit two restoration projects, one begun about seven years ago and another that's been underway two to thre years. We will likely identify some effects of this summer's prolonged heat and drought and hopefully observe how quickly prairies respond to rain. 

Sheri Capehart Nature Preserve is nestled in Eastern Cross Timbers woodlands with pocket prairies and a large woodland pond. It's in the heart of Arlington, but you may forget that when you hike further into this remnant Eastern Cross Timbers preserve.
