Prairie Seekers is a citizen scientist program training volunteers to assess and map prairies for possible conservation funding opportunities. Data collected is submitted to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Texas Natural Diversity database – which tracks non-game species across the state. 

You'll learn:

    •    Introduction to program

    •    Basic prairie ecology and regional history

    •    Common and endemic prairie species

    •    How to recognize and assess prairies

    •    Field survey techniques

    •    iNaturalist

Indoor portion will be at Tarrant County Resource Connection campus with the field training at Stella Rowan Prairie.

The $20 fee covers snacks, lunch and course materials.
