Class schedule:

11 a.m. - “Designing Color in the Garden.” The first and most important design decisions you need to make about your garden is the color scheme. Having a well-defined scheme will help you select plants that best fit your design. Powerful and beautiful designs can be based on shade variations of a single color, or a riotous rainbow effect. The key is to be consistent. Tammy Trimmer will help you choose a color palette that suits your style and home exterior, and give you tips on where and how much color you need to make a beautiful statement.

A1 p.m. - Ron Hathcox from Texas Natural Feed will talk about “Raising Backyard Chickens.” He’ll discuss feeding and caring for them, as well as how to keep them healthy. You’ll learn about the differences between various breeds, how to maximize egg production, how to deal with behavior problems such as pecking, life expectancy, and other topics.

2 p.m. “Medicinal Uses for Herbs” at 2 p.m. Many herbs and flowers have healing properties. Marilyn  Buehler will give you an overview of how you can use everyday plants in your garden for more than just their visual appeal.
