New BRIT research associate Dr. Barre Hellquist will share his past work on the waterlily genus Nymphaea. Waterlilies in Australia have received much attention in the past 20 years. Originally 6 native species were known from Australia. Today the number is 18, plus 4 introduced species. This is mainly due to extensive work by the late Surrey Jacobs and Hellquist.
