Dr. Ray Chancellor discusses how the winter months can be filled with more than 150 species of birds that can be enjoyed even on the coldest days. Learn what can seen when walking the many trails in our local park lands. Learn the key species to look for and how best to attract them to your own back yard. If you are a beginning birder or an experienced one, you will find the program just for you.

Dr. Chancellor, a Southlake naturalist/ecologist, has observed and photographed birds in Southlake continuously for the past 24 years. Prior to that, he conducted bird banding studies for 25 years. As a naturalist, his presentation will focus on the local ecosystem and how you can use the knowledge of it to create a better wildlife backyard habitat or simply to better enjoy the local trails. His will use his photographs taken locally to highlight the beauty and wonder found around the Lake Grapevine area.

There will have supervised bird-themed crafts and activities set up separately for kids 4 and up.
