Conference Participants Learn a History Lesson about Lee Harvey Oswald via Lime Scooters as They Tour Oak Cliff
WHO:
· Jason Roberts and Krista Nightengale, Better Block and organizers of conference
· Nick Barber, Lime General Manager, Northern Texas
· Attendees of Reimagining the Civic Commons from around the country
WHAT: Better Block hosts civic leaders, activists and city staff from several cities as part of the Reimagining the Civic Commons network’s Learning Journey series. The group is doing a deep dive into Oak Cliff and parks around downtown Dallas and learning its history. The best way to experience a city is not by vehicle, but by walking, scooting, biking and using the streetcar.
To that end, this morning includes a “how to ride a scooter” session followed by a history tour of “Capturing Lee Harvey Oswald.”
WHERE/WHEN:
Meet at Oddfellows
11 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Lime scooter demonstration
11:30 a.m.-12 noon Capturing Lee Harvey Oswald
Ending at Mercado369, 369 W. Jefferson Blvd., Dallas, TX 75208
WHY:
According to Krista Nightengale, Better Block managing director, “We want to show people Dallas in transportation other than the vehicle because so much of the work that we do and what this group does is bringing people together in public spaces.”
