“City by Nature” will reveal the urbanism of the thirteen-county Metroplex that is Dallas-Fort Worth, whose expanding density has given rise to an astonishing set of challenges and unprecedented conditions — most notably, the appearance of wildlife within the city. Bald eagles, turkeys, fox, coyotes, bobcats and other species now thrive within the urban jurisdiction of DFW, typically along the natural corridors of the cities watershed network. The existence of wildlife within the city, along with the unsustainable and diffuse city pattern that enables it to exist, is laying the groundwork for new ideas and patterns to restructure the architectural landscape into a walkable synergy with nature.
