The free public event will feature an 8 p.m. mothing presentation at the Pavilion by TPWD Urban Biologist Sam Kieschnick.

“Moth-ers” from the DFW area will be visiting with their light rigs and light traps to attract, identify and document nocturnal insects found at the Acton Nature Center.

Texas Master Naturalists volunteers from our Rio Brazos Chapter will offer children’s activities at the Pavilion prior to the 8 PM mothing presentation. Insect repellent, closed-toed shoes and flashlights are recommended for visitors.  Moths are most active on warm, muggy, calm nights.

The public event will be cancelled in the event of a National Weather Service heat advisory, brisk winds, rain or thunderstorms.
