Sierra Club, Texas Campaign for the Environment, NTREG, Public Citizen and 350Dallas have all been working to get a climate plan for Dallas, along with other allies.

We have learned that this topic will be discussed at the Dallas Quality of Life Committee briefing, where amendments pertaining to this committee's purview will be discussed. Come and wear a sticker of support.

Even if you don't live in Dallas, we will give you a sticker to wear that shows you support a climate plan.

BACKGROUND

Mayor Rawlings signed onto the Mayor's agreement in June 2017 - but the city of Dallas has not backed this signing on with a Climate Plan with a goal and quantifiable measures. Meanwhile, Austin has finished one. Houston and San Antonio are in the middle of working on their Climate plan. Out of 60 cities nationwide, Dallas is #57 for developing a Climate Plan while Austin is #2....

The Office of Environmental Quality is now finishing an emissions inventory that they started more than a year ago under the Resiliency department's efforts.  It's the first step toward developing a climate plan, but we need this process formalized through Council.
