Rachel Richter will talk about the Bats of North Texas. Did you know that there are over 1,300 species of bats? These flying mammals provide important benefits to natural ecosystems and human economies. This presentation will discuss bat biology, which bat species call DFW home, why bats are so important, and the current threats to bat populations.

Hard to believe it's been nine years and over a hundred meetups already. Anyway, we're going to Trinity Hall to celebrate!

Trinity Hall is one of our favorite places to go, with a dedicated vegan menu for years and constantly updating draft list. They've got phenomenal ambiance, great food and a staggering amount of whiskey.

Albatross filmmaker and artist Chris Jordan created a powerfully moving love story about birds on Midway Island in the Pacific whose bodies are filled with ocean plastic. Come experience a meditative look at both the destructive power of our culture of mass consumption and the beauty of the natural world.

We're inviting activists to bring non-active vegans to a meeting where we'll all individually draft emails to companies that profit from animal cruelty (places the DFW AR community is already protesting like Baylor/horse carriages/foie gras restaurants/circuses, etc).

Organizers from different AR groups (Anonynous for the Voiceless, DxE, Dallas Save Movement) will also give a brief presentation/synopsis of what their organization does and how you can get involved for people new to activism.

Animal activists will be handing out leaflets at this circus that features elephants, bears and horses.
