Description of Individual or organization

EcoStrate transforms a variety of local and global post-consumer waste materials to create premium quality, longer-lasting, safer and cost effective composite products. EcoStrate products reduce waste, use fewer natural resources and operate with a low environmental impact to ensure we create the best value for our shareholders and employees. Our end products are affordable, durable and sustainable

EcoStrate has created a green technology that transforms more challenging polymer content waste materials into high value composites. Our focus is to develop large scale end markets by disrupting materials and products with higher environmental footprints. We hope to grow globally and encourage the employment of those with disabilities and support companies struggling to find sustainable outlets for their processed plastics.
(In your response to this question you might consider answers to the following questions.

What's the organization or individual's mission? What progress have they made towards this goal? How do they strive to be green?)

Leadership (Nominee demonstrates leadership through example, knowledge, attitude)

Ron Sherga, CEO and Founder, had a dream to create a technology that could bring a solution to billions of tons of problematic waste. That’s exactly what he did, bringing solutions and end products to a challenging market. His positivity, drive, hard work and years of knowledge and relationships has not only brought EcoStrate to life but sustained it through these first years. He brought this first idea to the table, created an award-winning technology and he continues to expand the idea to reach other markets and materials; solving countless problems. His hope is to employ persons with disabilities and vets to continue serving the community. He is a true leader.

Environmental Impact (Nominee demonstrates a positive impact on the local environment via policy change, product offering, significant volunteer contribution or other achievement)

EcoStrate is capable of using challenging plastics waste from local (and global) areas to create end products and put back into those local (or global) areas, rather than sitting in the landfills. We are able to take problematic waste, i.e. packaging waste from Pepsi and turn it into flooring used in their facilities. We are strong believers and leaders in a closed loop solution. Our end products include but are not limited to: traffic signage, indoor signage (braille), flooring, and other building products. Our traffic signage disrupts the harsh environmental impact of AL.

Community Impact (Nominee demonstrates commitment to DFW green community through involvement with causes, business ventures or organizations)

EcoStrate has been fortunate to work with some local communities and businesses: Ascend Concepts has done incredible work on our marketing and branding, PineCrest Capital Partners has had a huge hand in our growth and support, various cities such as city of Colleyville, city of Georgetown and the city of Cleburne have given us orders giving us strong visibility as well, and other support from local strong voices in the green community. Since our end products are double green status many communities can pay for their signage through grants, city of Cleburne for example. Our end products are Environmentally Preferred Purchased products so communities can not only benefit from purchasing a 100 percent recycled product but they can receive benefits from the state for doing so.

Other reasons for your nomination

Not only does EcoStrate have a great green solution in our technology and recipes, but our end products also lend to greater things. Our traffic signage, in lieu of AL, reduces theft for metal resale as our material contains NO metal, missing signs cause accidents! Our process reduces green-house gas emissions and does not consume water, we have a recycling process within our recycling process.

We also have future cutting edge innovation with the ability to imbed tracking mechanisms for self-driving cars and smart highways. We can take ocean debris within our process and create end products for example beach signage.
