The heart of the festival is the Eco Expo, and exhibitors will use their presence to promote their achievements as green leaders, and teach attendees how to take environmentally responsible action by better utilizing available resources, switching to eco-friendly products, or joining their organizations.

In addition to the Eco Expo, attendees will have a number of educational entertainment options, which will include:

This program teaches you how to become more water-efficient in your “urban orchard,” what plants and varieties work best in our area, the basics of pest control, proper pruning methods and other practical ways to increase production. Branch out and join us for a fruitful program! Fort Worth staff will be attending the live online seminars in case you have questions pertaining specifically to Fort Worth outdoor irrigation restrictions and programs.

An open house for the Texas Master Naturalist program. NTMN will be accepting applications for its 2020 class from Oct. 1 to Nov. 30. Master Naturalist Trainees receive in-depth education in wildlife and natural resource management, customized to focus on our local ecosystems.

Audubon Texas is launching an exciting community initiative in Dallas. Texas is the epicenter of the energy industry. It’s also susceptible to climate change impacts. Hurricanes, extreme heat and changes in rainfall patterns are already impacting Texans, birds and wildlife across the state - and these threats will only worsen as average global temperatures continue to rise. That’s why Audubon Texas is calling for thoughtful action on carbon and a smart transition to clean energy sources. It’s the right thing for our communities, business, and wildlife.

The Lone Star Broads are meeting at TRAC for a stewardship project followed by an educational hike around the center. All are welcome. RSVP: lonestarbroads@gmail.com. The group is the North Texas Chapter of Great Old Broads for Wilderness.

Groundwork Dallas, Dallas Downriver Club and Trinity Nature Conservancy, will lead a 5-mile trip down the Elm Fork of the Trinity River, picking up trash along the way, before landing at the Frasier Dam Recreation Area. A cookout and music will await paddlers leaving the water.

This event, coordinated by the Dallas Downviver Club, is part of an effort by The Trinity Nature Conservancy and Groundwork Dallas to both improve the beauty of the Elm Fork, and encourage use of a newly improved paddling trail.

Please bring your favorite shovel, pruning or gardening tools, work gloves, or litter picker upper.

Wear appropriate clothing for the weather and for working in a natural area (long pants, long sleeves, sturdy shoes, hat).

Water and snacks will be provided.

O.S. Gray Natural Area has no restroom facilities, but Kroger is near by.
