REI will partner with Groundwork Dallas in building a campsite and trail maintenance at the Trinity River Audubon Center in the Trinity Forest. Bring a hat, water bottle, sunscreen, and work gloves, and lots of enthusiasm! For the younger volunteers they can make seed balls to help with the prairie restoration. A free lunch will be provided for the volunteers and you can stay Texas Turtle-Palooza and enjoy the museum and trails of the Trinity River Audubon Center.

Learn how to apply green remodeling and design to your home. Take a tour of the Environmental Education Center and learn how to apply earth-friendly design concepts at your house. Free.

Because our buildings have such a profound impact on our lives, the way we live is changing. The manner in which we use our buildings, their architectural design and how they are constructed necessitates a change to a more sustainable approach.

This class provides an interactive discussion where a panel of subject matter experts and you, the participants, will discuss renewable energy and high-performing green buildings. The class will conclude with a discussion of future building codes, standards, and government regulations, which will answer the question "What industry changes are pending?"

Earth Day Dallas hopes to catalyze a "green" movement in North Texas by staging a two-day event on April 22nd and 23rd over several city blocks in the Dallas Arts District.  We anticipate 500 civic, corporate and non-profit participants engaged in an event that will be the biggest and best Earth Day celebration in this part of the United States.  Sponsors currently include:
