Earth Day Dallas features two days of engaging exhibits, compelling speakers, music, entertainment, food and fun for everyone. Join us April 21-22, 2012 in Fair Park to see how you can make a difference.

Celebrate Earth Day at this fun festival with exhibits, speakers, films, music, food & more focused on making a positive impact on our environment.

The heart of the festival is the Eco Expo, and exhibitors will use their presence to promote their achievements as green leaders, and teach attendees how to take environmentally responsible action by better utilizing available resources, switching to eco-friendly products, or joining their organizations.

In addition to the Eco Expo, attendees will have a number of educational entertainment options, which will include:

The Dallas VegFest seeks to diminish food insecurity by educating the Oak Cliff community about proper nutrition and holistic health. Above all, we are invested and committed to building the future of Oak Cliff.

This unique cooking class will not only introduce you to practical cooking techniques and locally grown nutritious ingredients, but it will help power our Soup It Forward programming to create food security for all! Any you too will become a Soup SOULdier! Aug. 28

Libertine is well-known for their great vegan food, including seitan tacos, portobello fries, and the Beyond Burger! We love their great beer selection and aquafaba-based cocktails!

Presented by Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance, the Small Producers Initiative, and the Council for Healthy Food Systems.

Tracks include public policy, homesteading, crop production, business practices and small producers. Pre-conference workshops cover sustainable practices, forming co-ops, food safety, farm capital and SNAP programs.

We will have a casual setup at the library's auditorium. It'll be a great time to socialize and share recipes.

We will begin our movie screening at 1:30 p.m. So stick around to watch A Teachable Moment followed by a discussion panel.

An acclaimed new documentary explores why many in the African American community are embracing a plant-based lifestyle.

Joining us for this event will be Jasmine Leyva, who is featured in the film and is one of its directors as well. After the screening, Jasmine will speak briefly and participate in a Q and A session.

The film will start at 4 p.m. Vegan munchies will also be available for purchase from DeSoto African American owned restaurants.
