Climate change is happening - now. Texas is already experiencing more climate disasters than any other state - from historic drought and raging wildfires to historic inland flooding and the devastating wind and rain from Hurricane Harvey. These events are costing us in lost lives, destroyed homes, business and infrastructure and lost economic opportunity.

Founded in 1995 at UNT, TXSER is heading back to Denton to hold the annual conference in the beautiful Environmental Education, Science and Technology building. Conference will feature informal networking, outdoor learning and fun. Ken Steigman, director and research scientist at Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area, is the keynote speaker. Early registration runs through the end of September.

Brett Cease, regional coordinator of the national non-profit and non-partisan group Citizens’ Climate Lobby Third Coast division, will be coming to Collin County to start a Citizens’ Climate Lobby Group. 

Citizens’ Climate Lobby is a grassroots citizens lobbying organization that empowers citizens to break through the myth that we can’t make a difference!

Women in the Environment’s annual networking breakfast.
