Citizens Climate Lobby is a national organization focused on passing legislation to address climate change. This month, the Dallas chapter hosts a conference call with Dr. Lauren Rafelski from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, who will be explaining the Keeling Curve and the 400 parts per million milestone that was passed last month. The North Texas Renewable Energy Group hosts Bill Neukrantz, EE, MBA, who will speak on "Cutting Your Energy Costs in Half - Top 10 Steps." He'll cover lighting, monitoring solutions, building envelope improvement, heating and cooling systems and renewable energy implementation. Free and open to the public.

The North Texas Renewable Energy Group is hosting a field trip to BE-Wind, a new wind turbine manufacturing company spawned from a 10-year-old aerospace manufacturing facility. The company formed last July after four years of testing, developing and engineering of their model "EOW2800" dual-vertical-axis wind turbine. BE-Wind incorporates their team's background of aerospace manufacturing, automotive engineering and prototype capabilities to build innovative advanced wind turbines.

Citizens Climate Lobby-Dallas Chapter hosts Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) via conference call. Sen. Whitehouse goes to the floor of the Senate every week to speak about climate change and the urgent need for congressional action. This interactive workshop is geared to local governments interested in learning about solar development. It will provide actionable information on creating a local-level solar program, including overview of solar technology and why it's a viable option for our region; streamlining permitting processes; and innovative financing options.
