ACTION ALERT! City of Arlington: Public Hearing on New Gas Wells - Online
Per Liveable Arlington:
French Driller Total has applied for a permit to drill and frack three gas wells at the AC360 drill site on 2000 S. Watson Road. The city has rescheduled the public hearing on the gas well permits as an online meeting on Tuesday June 9. Members of the community will be able to participate in the online hearing.
Liveable Arlington will send an email this Saturday with instructions on how to attend and speak at the online hearing. We will update our Facebook event page with the instructions on Saturday as well.
You may also send comments in opposition to the permits by emailing [email protected]. Make sure to include "AC360 Drill Site Hearing" in the subject line. In your email please say that you would like your email to be entered in the hearing record.
These gas wells represent a danger to the health of our community.
Here are reasons for opposing the gas well permits that you can include in your comments:
• Higher death rates from COVID-19 have been found in places with more air pollution: https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/news/hsph-in-the-news/air-pollution-linked-....
• The risk associated with increased air pollution and toxic emissions from the gas wells.
• The potential negative health effects on children.
• The risk of accidents and blowouts.
• The potential impact on property values as well as the risk of foundation damage from the ground shifting.

Dallas Sierra Club: The Climate Collage and GSDFW's Andrea Ridout - Zoom
Robin Allory, from The Climate Collage, will discuss the goal of his organization: to increase environmental awareness through developmental and playful education. With games created for both young and old, this program takes on the important task of educating rather than lecturing.
Followed by nationally-known expert, author, radio host and business woman and Green Source DFW reporter Andrea Ridout, who will discuss how everyday-environmentalists can effectively answer questions and field criticisms from skeptics as she discusses the most popular green tips.
Robin Allory, a French native, currently calls North Texas home as he tirelessly promotes the benefits of The Climate Collage. This groundbreaking group was developed by Cédric Ringerbach, Professor at the Permaculture University in France, to reach a broader environmental audience through play. Both young and old benefit from constructive play on the dangers and pitfalls of climate change.
Andrea Ridout, nationally known expert on green living and home improvement, is the former host of Mother Earth News Radio and her own show, Ask Andrea. These days, she writes for Green Source DFW and is also working on her second book -- about backyard chickens for Texas A&M Press. You can reach her at [email protected].
From 6:45 to 7 p.m. you can log in to the meeting, chat and ask questions. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. with announcements, followed by our speakers' two presentations.
