Keep Texas Beautiful & TxDoT: Don't Mess with Texas Art Contest - Deadline April 24

Keep Texas Beautiful and the Texas Department of Transportation invite Texas students in kindergarten through 12th grade to submit their best litter prevention-inspired artwork to be considered for the Don’t mess with Texas Calendar. Students with the top 14 designs will have their work featured in the calendar. 

Each winner will also receive:

    •    Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1" tablet

    •    Gift basket with Buc-ee's merchandise

    •    Their artwork framed and returned

    •    Opportunity to have their artwork shared on Don’t mess with Texas and Keep Texas Beautiful websites and social media

    •    Teachers representing students who produce the top 14 designs will win a $100 H-E-B/Central Market gift card.

The contest is open to students in grades K-12. Submissions are due April 24.

Keep Texas Beautiful: Don't Mess with Texas Scholarship - Application Deadline is March 31

This scholarship recognizes the achievements of high school seniors who have taken a leadership role to prevent litter in their schools and/or communities. Any Texas high school senior currently attending public, private or home school, and planning to pursue a two- or four-year degree at an accredited college or university next year, is eligible to apply.

Dallas Blooms, one of the Southwest’s largest floral festival with more than 500,000 spring blooming bulbs from 100 bulb varieties, kicked off Feb. 28.

Visit the Fort Worth Botanic Garden’s recently restored conservatory and watch butterflies emerge during “Butterflies in the Garden,” the largest exhibit of live, exotic butterflies in north central Texas. The six-week exhibit will be open daily, including Sundays. Find out more at FWBG.org

Bush Presidential Library Native Texas Park: Spring Tours - Dallas (Thru June 27) - MARCH 28 TOUR CANCELED

The 15-acre Native Texas Park features an assortment of trees, shrubs, flowers and grasses native to the Texas landscape. Free docent led Spring Tours, fourth Saturday 10 a.m. and  11 a.m., Feb.29, March 28 (CANCELED), April 25, May 30, June 27. Tours begin at the fountain in front of the Library.
