Groundwork Dallas: Parks Cleanup Volunteer Opportunity - Dallas (Every Saturday)

Join Groundwork Dallas at Hines Park, a hidden gem along Harry Hines Blvd. Help protect the park’s water feature, a haven for migratory birds as well as egrets and heron, by removing litter and debris.

Where:  Harry Hines Park, near the intersection of Harry Hines Blvd and Webb Chapel Extension. Parking is in the Xenco Laboratories Lot at 9701 Harry Hines Blvd, Dallas TX 75220

Please wear closed-toe shoes, pants, high socks and long sleeves.

Join Groundwork Dallas at Frasier Dam Recreation Area, a unique 116-acre urban wilderness. Help us restore and improve this area through litter clean-up and removal, trail building, and maintenance.

Where: 9300 Stemmons Fwy, Dallas, TX 75247. Take the I-35 South ramp off of Harry Hines Blvd; entrance is to the right just under the bridge.

The Perot Museum of Nature and Science, in partnership with the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits University) in South Africa and the National Geographic Society, proudly announces fossils of two recently discovered ancient human relatives (Australopithecus sediba and Homo naledi) will come to the U.S. from South Africa this fall for the first, and likely only, time to be featured in the limited-run exhibition.

Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge: Lake Worth Monster Bash - Fort Worth

This year is the 50th anniversary of the Lake Worth Monster (“Goatman”) sighting. Fort Worth locals reported sightings of a hairy, tall, man-goat-beast. We are commemorating this event with hayrides, guided hikes, canoeing, and cryptozoologist talks. We want you to enjoy the habitat and recreation activities of the Goatman. In addition to all of these activities, we will be hosting Trails & Treats. You are used to it being in the evening hours for the past years. This year, we are offering it in the day with Monster Bash to create a fall festival-like atmosphere.

$1-$5. Children under 3 free.

Some activities have additional fees.
