North Texas Master Naturalists: Frogs are Calling - Dallas

Join Jessie Crowley, lead naturalist educator for the Perot Museum of Nature and Science and frog lover, for a few tips and tricks to ID local frogs and toads by sight and sound. We will end this presentation with a night hike to listen for frogs in the area. There will also be a few live frog species on display to view before the presentation.

As always all of our meetings are free and open to the public.

Arlington Conservation Council: New Arlington Library Tour - Arlington

Tour of the George W. Hawkes Central Library. Gather at the entrance to tour this silver LEED-certified building.

The tour will include an overview of the plaza, which has 50 trees, more than 1,500 native plants and a rainwater riverbed feature. Inside, there is the sustainability shop that sells used books, eco-friendly office supplies, tote bags and water bottles. There is also a seed library that started with more than 1,000 packets of seeds that can be checked out. The 3rd floor includes a butterfly garden and a Sun Club Garden that has native plants, which are rainwater fed. The roof boasts a solar array.

Parking: Street parking on Center and a parking garage across the street from the main entrance.
