George W. Bush Presidential Center: Bluebonnet Tours - Dallas (Thru June 2)

Enjoy docent-guided bluebonnet tours in the Native Texas Park on the grounds of the Bush Center. The park features other seasonal wildflowers, native Texas grasses, tree-shaded lawns, and clearings providing habitats for butterflies, birds, and other wildlife. Visitors can explore native Texas environments such as Blackland Prairie, Post Oak Savannah, and Cross Timbers Forest.

The free tours of the Native Texas Park are offered every Saturday at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., weather permitting. Usually lasting between 30 and 40 minutes, visitors are guided through the winding network of walking trails. Space is limited and tours are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Native Plant Society of Texas, Dallas Chapter: Native Landscape Certification Program/Level 1: Intro to Native Landscapes - Dallas

The Native Landscape Certification Program (NLCP) is a four level certification program developed by the Native Plant Society of Texas that teaches the value of including and preserving native plants in landscapes. 

Level 1: Introduction to Native Landscapes 
Level 2: Design and Development with Native Plants 
Level 3: Installation and Maintenance of Native Landscapes 
Level 4: Advocating for Our Native Plant Community (to be developed) 

Participants must complete Level 1 before attending any other level. Levels 2, 3, and 4 may be taken in any order. See website for more details.

ColorPalooza will feature a wide variety of exhibits and interactive events with a “spring feel” for the whole family. Festival admission will be free, although some activities might carry a nominal charge. Visitors will get to show off their artistic abilities, watch skilled artists create one-of-a kind sculptures and paintings, marvel at colorful sidewalk chalk art, and learn how to better care for the Earth and make their homes more environmentally friendly.
