Join The Great Seed Bomb as it rolls across Dallas, Tx with a series of free wildflower seedball workshops from Nov. 11 - Dec. 9!. Participants and volunteers will learn how to source materials and manufacture seedballs by hand and with a tumbler, get acquainted with Dallas' urban farm and conservation leaders on their own turf, and practice their new seedball making skills with materials that will be used to jumpstart a pocket prairie along the Trinity Forest Trails. This is your opportunity to be a part of creating a living (and life-giving) art installation that will sustain itself for years to come.

America's Grasslands Conference - Fort Worth

The fourth biennial America’s Grasslands Conference brings together researchers, natural resource professionals, farmers and ranchers, policy experts, and conservationists to discuss relevant issues related to the conservation of North America’s grasslands. The next conference will take place Nov.14-16, 2017 in Fort Worth, Texas.

We are very excited to announce a new partnership for this year with the Southern Plains and Prairies conference. While maintaining a national scope, this year’s conference will also include some regionally focused sessions. The conference is co-hosted by the National Wildlife Federation, Coastal Prairie Partnership, Native Prairies Association of Texas, and Texas A&M University.

 

Dallas County Master Gardeners: Shade Gardening & Garden Bazaar - Dallas

Shade Gardening at 11:30 a.m. with speaker: Roger Sanderson, director of horticulture at Texas Discovery Gardens

Bring your lunch; water will be provide. And come early and support our projects and Master Gardeners at the Garden Bazaar starting at 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. (more information to follow in Helping Hands). 

This not only the last DCMGA meeting of 2017, but it is also a wonderful opportunity to support our school and community projects as well as our members by shopping at the Garden Bazaar. Plans are already underway to make the wonderful jellies, jams and baked goods we all look forward to every holiday season. The Merchandise Team will also have lovely shirts, jackets, vets, caps, aprons, messenger bags and more that will make perfect presents for your friends or even for yourself. There is no telling what garden art, plants or other treasures our members will be offering for sale as well. Come early and/or stay late, and shop to your heart's content!
