 This group of paintings and prints is a retrospective exhibition that starts with Blackstonian from the forest near the Mosel River in Germany and ends with winter scenes from his boyhood in Sussex, New Jersey. Following a realist tradition, Conn carves an image into a linoleum block using one tool. Then, by enlarging the image to a painting scale the lines between representation and abstraction are interwoven, creating a sense of being in and of the forest.

BRIT will be open from Sept. 9, 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. on Gallery Night with a public reception from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. and a gallery talk by the artist at 6:15 p.m.

We will walk downtown as a group spending time at many important parks and landmarks as we come to them. We will take pictures and document any an all wildlife we find... Birds, bugs, tracks, etc.

We have chartered a bus to take us to Wise County to explore the LBJ National Grasslands & top the trip off with an afternoon of wine tasting at Marker Cellars.

Heard Museum: Halloween at the Heard - McKinney

Families will enjoy an evening full of fun activities including a presentation of a family-friendly movie on the Heard's outdoor amphitheater stage. Kids ages 12 and under will also have the opportunity to participate in a costume contest.

The Heard recommends that guests bring insect repellant, flashlights, water-resistant blankets and/or stadium seats for use during the movie. Concessions will be available for purchase. Guests may also bring their own picnic dinner and non-alcoholic beverages.

Tickets for this annual event sold out over a week before the event last year, so the Heard encourages guests to purchase theirs as soon as possible. Admission to this event is $15 for adults, $10 for children ages 3-12, and free for children ages 2 and under.
