From intro to Kayaking to vegan drinks, there's some good fun to be had this weekend. But while this may not be a love blog, we'd be remiss if we ignored that it was Valentine's Day weekend. And if you're celebrating Valentine's Day, be sure to check our recently published guide to valentine's day gifts.

If you haven't already filled up your weekend with romantic getaways, or events to help you forget that Valentine's Day even exists, there's plenty to keep you busy this weekend. First up, tomorrow night Dallas Vegan is hosting Vegan Drinks at the Hacienda on Henderson. The $20 admission will get you free appetizers and a margarita, while all funds are going to benefit the non-profit Youth Empowered Action (YEA) Camp, a summer camp for teens who are "passionate about activism and social justice." Get more details on Dallas Vegan and tomorrow's event (and some hunger inducing vegan food photos) at their website, Dallas Vegan.com.

Also this weekend comes Texas Mardi Gras. With 28 bands on 5 stages for this daylong event, it is definitely one of the biggest local music festivals this winter. Held at Fair Park the lineup for this "Texas Style Mardi Gras" consists of a lot of country and admission is a good value at only $15 at the door. Check their site for more info on the lineup, location, and other details.

On the outdoor front, the Dena Recreation Center is holding Intro to Kayaking courses this weekend in Denton. You can get all the details at our event listing. Finally, enrollment is open for the Young Farmer's Program hosted by Cardo's Farm Project. This is a farm-based class for kids ages 4-10. In the course they'll learn "learn about the importance of the farm in our lives" through "farm-based activities and hands-on
experiences children in this class will." You can get prices and sign up info on their webpage: Cardos Farm Project.com
