Our "Weekly Green Roundup" is now "Weekend Green", and is moving from Thursdays to Wednesdays. But while the name and day of the week have changed, the content has not. Weekend Green here at Green Source DFW will still focus on providing you events, volunteer opportunities, and deals to help you fill your weekend schedule.

First up this week is a reminder of the vegetarian cooking classes at Spiral Diner. Their 2013 schedule is out and there are still some spaces available for anyone desiring to learn a bit about getting things done in the kitchen from a local staple and winner of one of our 2012 Green Business AwardsDetails here.

Next up, this Saturday, the Green Sanctuary Committee at Westside UU is holding a film screening for "Last Call at the Oasis". The film delves into the importance of water in our daily lives and the problems with our current water systems. It also shines a spotlight on folks aiming to do find solutions to these defects. You can learn more about the film at Last Call at the Oasis.com. For more details and directions check our listings.

Also this Saturday Texas Discovery Gardens is hosting a family friendly festival including tropical treats, crafts, plants, and butterflies. If mid-winter temperatures in the 70's fahrenheit aren't quite unseasonal enough, this should be a great event for you. The event is free with regular garden admission. Check our event listings for more details.

Finally, this Sunday, Connemara Conservancy in Allen is hosting an open
house. Connemara Conservancy is a great preserve with over 72 acres of land representing an attempt to restore the biologically diverse ecosystem native to North Texas. It's "a place to revive the spirit while teaching the importance of nature and biodiversity in the world where we live." No pets or bikes are allowed, but admission is free. More info.
