EarthxFilm kicks off its Movie Monday screenings with a documentary that follows two journalists who hike the entire length of the Grand Canyon hoping to enlighten the public on the need to protect it.

Into the Canyon is showing Monday, July 22, at 7 p.m. at the Angelika Film Center in Dallas. The event is free.

The film, produced by the Redford Center, captures the beauty and the treacherousness of the 750-mile trail while exploring the threats that surround one of America’s most iconic national parks, including uranium mining and development.

Green Source DFW director Wendel Withrow will join Robert Kent, area director for The Trust for Public Land’s North Texas Office, as guest speakers following the screening.
